Happy 4th of July from the NEA RA

After a long day of meetings (7AM to 6PM) Rob and Manny walked back to the hotel.
After dinner, we stood on a courtyard along the Mississippi River and watched the fireworks here in New Orleans. Here is a bit of the display.

NEA Comes to the Big Easy

Oil spill off the coast, hurricane season just starting and the city still rebuilding from Katrina. The National Education Association, the National level of our union is having it's Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly in the Crescent City for the first time since 2003. Manny Lopez and I, Rob Curry, are your local's delegates. Joe Hermann had a family matter to take care of, so there are just the two of us this year. Tuesday is my travel day with Wednesday and Friday the opportunity to do some sightseeing. We will do an update almost everyday, starting on Thursday.
